High shine metals reflect heat, aluminum acts as a heat sink, and multi-layered metals with air spaces create insulation. This same principle is used by NASA in insulating space suits and crafts. Deck Defender is simple, lightweight, and requires no maintenance.

It has been tested to extreme conditions and is 100% fire-proof, with fire pits reaching temperatures of around 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The materials used include an aluminum top plate and lower steel sub-frame in a 2-piece construction. The powder-coated frame also includes wide feet for lawn applications. Deck Defender is outdoor storage safe, sitting above the surface to provide airflow and prevent moisture accumulation. Measuring 26" square x 4" high and weighing 24 lbs, it has a weight capacity of 350 lbs. Before purchasing, it is recommended to draw a 26" square on your driveway with chalk to ensure your fire pit fits the Deck Defender.

Manufactured in the USA, Deck Defender is designed for use with standard gas and wood-burning fire pits and Chimineas. It is not suitable for use with oxygen-supplied fires due to the much higher flame temperatures they produce. Note that the fire pit is not included, and no assembly is required, simply set your fire pit or Chiminea on top of Deck Defender and burn as usual.
